the picture that made me fall in love and also hot with envy…that’s the mustache i’d been drawing for years! or maybe hot with love and falling envy?

wreck family and a video excerpt from my show to screen @ queertopia, 6/24-26

Wreck Family presents, “Full of Pride,” an explosion of mythological gay creatures.

a new video to be premiered at:

Queertopia: A Cabaret Celebration of Queer Love

Curated by Jeffry Lusiak

Join us for a radical, raunchy evening of Queer expression.
Local Queer artists join forces for an eclectic night of performance that’s determined to put a little more LOVE and CELEBRATION into your PRIDE!

That’s right!! This year has a theme: CELEBRATION!
Each artist will be presenting a piece that examines/expresses/explores the concept of Queer Celebration…

What does Queer Celebration mean to you?
Come on down to Bedlam during PRIDE and show us!!! (this means feel free to dress the part)

we wrecked ida.

well, no, not really. it’s a play on words. really, ida kinda wrecked us, but in a good way. i’m exhausted–the catharsis that comes out of ida (individual, communal, psychic, emotional, physical, release release release) is a process i relish every year, even with trepidation leading up to it.

we performed this piece–made a year ago (june 2009) for Queertopia (for part one, see Rub It Out, Part 1 here)…

Wreck Family presents: Rub It Out, Part 2 from S.K. on Vimeo.

and here’s a bruise i gave myself in the performance. performance art is Serious Business.

maybe i’ll see you there sometime…
